Adobe announced the release of its new product, Photoshop Lightroom, aimed at digital photographers. Until April 30th, you can order Lightroom at a savings of $100 off the release price. The planned release price is $299. This appears to me a head to head challenge to Apple's Aperture (also priced at $299). However, Aperture is only available for Mac OSX while Lightroom is available on both Mac OSX and Windows.
Given the market saturation of Photoshop and Lightroom's excellent interface to Photoshop I think Adobe will give Apple a run for its money in the digital photography space.
